For the past 18 months, I shared our family’s journey through Matthew’s cancer on CaringBridge. What began as a way to keep family and friends updated became something I never expected—a record of my own journey of faith. 

But looking back now, I realize my faith journey actually started long before Matthew was diagnosed. 

There were some dark days during my previous career. At the time, I didn’t understand why I was going through them or what God was doing in my life. There were struggles, disappointments, questions, and seasons when I had to learn what it meant to lean on God instead of believing I could control everything myself. 

Today, I look at those years differently.
